Our Marquee

Our beautiful marquee measures 20 x 40 feet and is made from natural creamy canvas. It was handmade by local canvas worker Nick Minkley from Emsworth Canvas. The poles are natural pine and made by local marquee builders Trimms, in Cerne Abbas, Dorset.

It is a beautiful, light airy space for all the fun and eating at Henry’s Beard. The cafe is a colourful, kid friendly environment that normally spills out onto the grass. It is decorated with our home-made bunting , lots of flowers and plants. We like to bring a piano with us to encourage some low key, organic happenings and this often provides a focus for wandering musicians and entertainers. There’s nothing like a bit of Mozart with your breakfast, a bit jazz with your supper and 24 renditions of “ Summertime “ everyday.

It’s tight as a drum in the wind and rain and provides welcome shade on a sunny day.We have games for rainy days, high chairs and a circus board.

The Environment

We care about the environment and operate a LA21 policy buying locally, organically and source fairly-traded goods wherever we are. We have a larder full of delicious ingredients from home-made chutney to fairly traded couscous to organic salad leaves. We operate a vigourous recycling policy as soon as we touch field. We tidy up after ourselves and apart from patch on the grass you shouldn’t know we’ve been there.

Insurance, Health and Safety

We have a full public and employment liability insurance, are registered and regularly inspected by our local authority. All documentation is available.
