Our Marquee
Is
nick named Beard II, because it is the second one we have had made
to order.
Our marquee measures 20 x 40 ft and made from natural creamy canvas.
It was hand made by local canvas maker Nick Minkley from Emsworth
Canvas. The poles are natural pine and made by local marquee builders
Trimms, in Cerne Abbas, Dorset.
It provides a beautiful, light airy space for all the fun and eating
at Henry’s Beard. The café is colourful, kid friendly
environment and normally spills out on to the grass. We like to
bring a piano with us to encourage some low key, organic happenings
and this often provides a focus for wandering musicians and entertainers.
There’s nothing like a good bit of Mozart with your breakfast,
a bit of jazz with your supper and 24 renditions of “Summer
Time” everyday.
The Environment
Henry’s
Beard is committed to the environment. We operate a LA21 initiative
by using local producers wherever possible, as well as our organic
and fair-trade policy. In 2007 we hope to running our diesel vehicles
(including our hire van ) on Bio-Diesel from local producers Bridport
TLC located in Bridport. Whilst working we operate a rigorous recycling
policy. We tidy up after ourselves properly and apart from a patch
on the grass you shouldn’t even know we’ve been there!
Also in 2007 we are introducing a new system of permanent plates
and cutlery sourced from the UK. We also hope to sell Bleu mineral
water in corn bottles (made from corn starch), these are bio-degradable
and we want to support this company.
Insurance,
Health and Safety
We have a full public and employment liability insurance, are registered
with our local authority and fulfil all health and safety requirements.
All documentation is available.
